Saying bye-bye to Gainesville, Georgia this morning as we head to the Atlanta Airport bright & early…. yes we woke up at 4am 🙂

We have a 4 hour flight down to San Jose, Costa rica where we will then be taking a 3 hour bus ride into the town of Jaco. This Pacific Coast town is know for it’s surf beaches and nightlife and is beautiful from what we have heard. Big shoutout to God for already having this destination as a plan for us and the ability for my whole squad to be so flexible as we only found out a week ago that this is where we’re going.

Over the past 4 days, I have been centered in the midst of a loving and safe community with nonstop devotion. I have listened to teachings from over 5 people including tips on how to live out this journey in a way of honor, intimacy, truth and love.

Heres a few of my most eye opening takeaways from my time at Training Camp:

  1. I learned that the kingdom is made up of 3 different components; CAVE, TABLE & ROAD. The CAVE is our intimacy with god, the times we sit in solitude with the Lord admiring his creation or simply having a conversation just in His presence. The TABLE is the body of christ, doing life in community. It’s Ephesians 4, encouraging and speaking truth into one another. And the ROAD is the GO, it’s the mission itself. God says in Mark 16 to “go & make disciples of every nation”, that is the road. These small components altogether make up the Kingdom that God created for us to build. It’s a reminder that we need harmony of intimacy with Jesus, community to lean on and receive encouragement and correcting from and we need to be the people willing to stand up and say “send me Lord, I will go wherever you want me”.
  2. I learned that the Holy Spirit wants to be your best friend in comforting, teaching and guiding. The holy spirit comes upon us to convict and not condemn meaning the Spirit is there to tell us of our wrongdoings and help correct our path in a loving way. The Holy Spirit is not harsh and doesn’t put something on your heart to cause embarrassment and shame. I’m not a sinner saved by grace, Jesus already paid for my sins on the cross. He doesn’t hold them against me, he doesn’t even remember sins that I have already committed. No matter what I do, my God cannot change because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
  3. I learned about hearing the Lord. I learned that He wants closeness in proximity with me. He won’t always be speaking loud and clear and in those moments I have to lean in in order to hear what He is saying to me. He speaks, He surely does but it’s up to me to position myself in a place to hear what he has to say.

Overall, these past few days have been an amazing send off to the road. I’m grateful for everyone who took the time to pour into us, preparing us as best as possible to meet the needs of others. I have a lot of tools in my tool box now but it’s up to me to start building something beautiful out of it.

Please pray for overall health in the bodies of my squad traveling together. I pray that we overflow with His love and can pour out to others on the field. Thank you Lord for this opportunity to serve your Kingdom, amen.

Love always,

<3 P
